Weekly Nail #5 - Pink, Purple and Peach
Work's been pretty stressful the last week or so - we have a big event on next week an most thing about it are my responsibility! Work stress inevitably leads to me picking at my nail varnish and generally just loosing my positive mental attitude, so I'm very glad it's the weekend and I'm looking forward to being on holiday as of next Friday. I'm not leaving the country or anything, I'm just really looking forward to having nearly two whole weeks of to chill and celebrate some birthdays with friends and make some awesome cakes and see a lot of my parents. And hopefully I'll find a minute or two to clean my house and do some blogging too! I've bought some awesome new things recently which I'm looking forward to showing you. I've also being using some new products which to review and recommend.

Weekly Nail #2 - The Batmanicure
I went to see the Dark Knight Rises this week, and totally loved it :D I decided to do a wee tribute with my nails this week using Barry M polishes - the yellow and the black shatter - and my Andrew Fulerton Dot and Flick in black. Crackle is one of my favourite manis, because it's just really hard to get wrong!

Weekly Nail #1 - Tiny Explosions!
This week I've used Missguided Splash in "MissTaken", which is an awesome shade of orange. It's been on my toes for a couple of weeks already, since I got one free with Cosmo. I also used my Andrea Fulterton Dot and Flick in black to do some flicks for an accent nail, and they're so cute! They look like tiny explosions!

That's Neat, That's Neat, That's Neat, That's Neat...
You guys know how I love to do my nails! Well I was in Superdrug the other day picking up a new eyeliner, and saw this wee black Dot & Flick Nail Art polish, from Andrea Fulerton. I was never sold with nail art pens, but this little squeezy bottle looked a good bet, and it was only £2.99! It has a long thin brush for painting lines and flicks and swoopy things, and then a dotting tool under the cap for doing spots and flowers and leopard print.
I also got my paws on some yellow sparkly polish from Missguided, which is free with this month's Cosmo. I love it in yellow and I'm tempted to buy the magazine again just to get the orange one too!
I decided to have a go at doing some tiger nails, spotted on instagram from Gem Fatale, and I followed the tutorial up on company.co.uk.
So I'm sure these won't be the neatest tiger nails you see this summer, I hope you like them, and I definitely think you should give them a try :) I got loads of compliments on them, and they're fun for pretending to be fierce and growly...

Bare-faced Cheek
I've had bare nails for the last few days. Not like me I know, but it's important, for keeping your nails healthy. Coating them in chemicals every day can obviously be damaging so its good to let them breathe some days as well.
If you're giving your nails a rest, be sure to file them smooth, keep them all the same length, scrub them clean, and maybe use a buffer for some extra shine in the evening. Natural nails can look just as pretty, fresh and fashionable as the latest shade of sky blue or watermelon. AND, they'll go with everything :)

Shatter
It's been such a long time since I used my Barry M Nail Effects shatter. I'd forgotten how much I love it. Tones down strong colours, hides chips, easy to apply, hard to mess up. It's also fun with a tape manicure or just for an accent nail.
If you've forgotten about that shatter you got last year, or if you missed that bandwagon, well shame on you. This stuff still packs a punch :)

More Nails
Hi guyz (my phone just tried to autocorrect guyz to Fitzgerald...)
I'm pretty sure I didn't show you these before, which is an error on my part cos they're really cool! These are Nail Ease decorative fools and they are a super easy alternative to actually being good at nail art - essential for those of us who are particularly uni-dexterous.
They take about 20 minutes to apply and there's no drying time. You get two sets in the packet, a cuticle stick and a nail buffer, and the instructions of course. You need a nail file as well. Remember to seal up the packet again so the second set don't dry up.
Mine lasted two days looking pretty perfect and I didn't take them off for about a week cos they still looked alright. I removed them using a cuticle stick, and then a wipe of polish remover to get rid of the residue.
They came off better than Nail Rocks (a similar product) but the range of designs is smaller and less imaginative. You get enough to do two manicures with these as well - Nail Rocks only have 16 in the packet.
Aaanyway, that's just my two cents.

Tape, Crackle and Pen
Still no sign of that new computer I'm afraid, but don't worry, you've not got rid of me that easily!
I had a quiet weekend due to a stinking cold, and I spent most of my time eating ice cream, knitting, and reading Harry Potter. Oh and last night I dropped an entire 2l carton of milk on the kitchen floor.
The coolest part of this weekend was definitely my nails. A couple of coats of No. 7 Me! Me! Me! Polish for the pink. Then I cut some strips of sticky tape, and placed them on, one nail at a time, then painted black Barry M Nail Effects over the top. The trick with this is to remove the tape before the crackle starts drying (easier said than done) so that flakes of it don't lift up too. I didn't do very well at that, so I used a silver Top Shop nail art pen in an attempt to neaten the edges. Unfortunately I'd never used the pen before so I didn't do a fabulous job, especially on the right hand. Also, I was too lazy for top coat, and then pen wears off pretty quick, so don't be like me!
Hope you like them anyway.
